About Our Madrasa
Riyadhul-‘Ilm Michigan is a growing Islamic educational institute located on the east side of Detroit, Michigan. Since its inception in April 2025, the madrasa began in a private home with just two dedicated students. As of January 2026, the number has grown to 12 students, all focused on memorizing the Noble Qur’an and building a strong foundation in Islamic knowledge.
The name Riyadhul-‘Ilm — meaning “Gardens of Knowledge” — reflects the school’s mission to cultivate students who embody the light of the Qur’an, the manners of the Sunnah, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Though still in its early stages, the madrasa places a strong emphasis on sincerity (ikhlas), discipline (adab), and personal responsibility in both religious and academic pursuits.
The program offers a structured full-time Hifz curriculum, along with essential Islamic studies such as:
- Tajweed (Correct Qur’anic pronunciation)
- Aqeedah (Islamic beliefs)
- Masnoon Duas
- Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence)
- Hadith (Prophetic traditions)
- Adab (Islamic etiquette)
Located in a peaceful and diverse neighborhood, the madrasa provides a culturally rich and spiritually grounded environment. Small class sizes ensure personalized attention, strong student-teacher relationships, and a close-knit learning community where each student’s progress is carefully supported.
Riyadhul-‘Ilm Michigan aims not only to produce Huffaaz, but to nurture students who live by the teachings of the Qur’an in character, speech, and action. Through a focus on discipline, humility, and respect, students are prepared to become future leaders, imams, and scholars who will serve their communities with knowledge and integrity.
As the Madrasa continues to grow, it remains rooted in its core values: sincerity, simplicity, excellence, and service to the Ummah.
